May marked the last month of our Venture Club year. During May we voted for officers for 2009-2010 and planned our end of the year BBQ.

May marks the last month of our Venture Club year. During May we will vote for officers for 2009-2010 and plan our end of the year BBQ. We will also decide who will receive the Venturist of the Year and Friend of Venture awards. We’re also excited to have a table at Celebrate Davis on May 14th. Be sure to stop by to say hello!

In April the club will be busy selecting a recipient for our Student Aid
Award. This year we are looking for student who is committed to serving the
Yolo County community and who is also in need of financial assistance to
complete his or her education.

March marks the beginning of the beer booth season. March 11th will be the
first “Picnic in the Park” at the Davis Farmer’s Market, and therefore the
first of many Wednesday nights where the beer booth will be open for
business. Please stop by and enjoy a beer for charity!

In January we completed the selection of our grant recipients. We also welcomed potential new members to Venture Club at a dinner and informational program at Woodstocks Pizza in Davis. We hope that the women who joined us for dinner will be coming to our upcoming events in February!

Venture Club is currently reviewing grant applications from local non-profit
agencies that benefit those in the Yolo County community in a crisis
situation. Our Grants Awards Night will be held on February 25th at
Stonegate Country Club in Davis.

On November 19th, we will host shoppers at our annual Holiday Shopping Night fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. at 3037 Bollate Lane in Davis. Representatives from Creative Memories, Pampered Chef, Wine Shop at Home, Partylite Candles, Arbonne Skin Care and Cookie Lee Jewelry will be available with their products on display. A portion of the sales will benefit Venture Club. A supervised children’s playroom will be available. Email us at clubinfo@ventureclubofdavis.org for more information.
On November 2nd we hosted a double birthday party at Progress Ranch. The boys enjoyed pizza, cake and fun birthday activities. Thanks to our Davis High School volunteers for making this party extra special.
October was Venture Month! On October 8th, we were invited to the Soroptimist International of Davis Luncheon meeting at the Wildhorse Country Club to celebrate.
On October 25th we hosted the Pumpkin Patch at the Davis Farmers’ Market. Thanks to everyone who joined us for pumpkins, crafts and other Fall fun. Venture Club appreciated the support of our Soroptomist and Davis High School volunteers in making this event a success.
